The Loriga River Beach is the best-kept secret of the Serra da Estrela. A finalist in the 7 Wonders — Beaches of Portugal, it is the only river beach located in a glacial valley in the country.

Its crystal-clear and icy waters flow directly from the mountains, bathing a landscape of imposing mountains — Penha dos Abutres on one side, Penha do Gato on the other. In the height of summer, its a must-visit.
